Chinatown Station is the planned terminus of the new Central Subway line. Because the new subway is being constructed as a deep bore tunnel so as to minimize disruption to traffic, it’s about ten stories deep. That makes for some challenging lighting problems, as there aren’t always mounting locations where you’d like them and even when there are, you might not be able to access them to maintain the fixtures once installed.
Above, cutaway view of the station. The highlighted areas are where I consulted on lighting.
